Privacy policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what data is used by My Cozy Moment (the Android app and its web version) and by this website, mycozymoment.app. In short: what you record in the app is stored on your device and never reaches me or anyone else.
Who is responsible
My Cozy Moment is a personal project. For anything to do with your data, you can write to me:
- Owner
- Marta González Duque
- Website
- mycozymoment.app
What you store in the app
Everything you record in My Cozy Moment is stored in the app’s private storage on your device (in the web version, in your browser):
- your name or nickname, language, theme and settings;
- your projects, sessions, times, notes, journal entries, how you were feeling and your wishlist;
- the photos you take with the app’s camera or choose from your gallery;
- the reminders you set up;
- if you create an account, your email address and a hash of your password. The password isn’t stored as it is: it’s transformed with PBKDF2 and can’t be read.
None of this is sent to any server. I don’t have access to it, I don’t sell it, I don’t share it and I don’t use it for anything. The Android app doesn’t have permission to connect to the internet, so it couldn’t send it anyway.
For now, the account doesn’t leave your device either. If the app ever sends data to a server, for example to sync your account, I’ll update this policy first and let you know in the app.
No ads, no tracking
The app has no advertising, analytics, trackers or third-party tools that collect data. It doesn’t use cookies or advertising identifiers.
Android app permissions
These are the permissions the app asks for and what it uses them for:
- Camera: to take photos of your projects inside the app. It’s only used when you open the camera.
- Notifications: for reminders and to show the candle and the timer in the notification bar.
- Exact alarms: so your reminders arrive at the time you choose.
- Background playback: so the ambient sound and the timer keep going when you leave the app.
- Device startup: to schedule your reminders again when you restart your phone.
- Vibration: for gentle alerts.
You can remove any of these permissions in your Android settings. The app will keep working, just without that part.
If you turn on “Save the photos you take to your gallery”, every photo you take with the app’s camera is also saved to your phone’s gallery, in the My Cozy Moment album. From then on your gallery looks after it, like any other photo.
Backups
“Save backup” (More › Settings › Your memories) creates a file with your data and your photos, and you choose where to save it. The file isn’t encrypted, so keep it somewhere you trust. If you upload it to a cloud service, that service’s privacy policy applies.
Links to other websites
If you save a link in your wishlist and open it, it opens in your browser. What happens on that website depends on its own privacy policy.
This website
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. To show you the pages and protect them from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data about your visit, such as your IP address, your browser and the time, and keeps it in its logs for a short time. It does this on my behalf, under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare is a company based in the United States that participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which covers those transfers.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The website doesn’t use analytics or advertising cookies, has no forms and doesn’t load anything from other sites: the fonts and images are served from here. You’ll find more details in the cookie policy.
If you write to me
If you email me at mycozymomentapp@gmail.com, I’ll use your address and whatever you tell me only to reply to you. Emails reach my inbox through Cloudflare’s email forwarding service. I keep them while we’re in touch and for no more than two years after the last reply, unless the law requires me to keep them for longer.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to what you ask me (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your rights
You can ask me for access to your data, to rectify or erase it, or to restrict its processing, and you can object to that processing and ask for your data to be ported, by writing to mycozymomentapp@gmail.com. I’ll reply within one month at most.
Since what you store in the app never reaches me, you exercise those rights yourself, directly: you can see and change everything in the app, take it with you using “Save backup” and delete it with “Delete everything” or by uninstalling the app. I explain it step by step in how to delete your data.
If you think I haven’t handled your data properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es) or with the data protection authority in your country.
Children
My Cozy Moment isn’t intended for children under 13. The app doesn’t collect data from anyone, children included.
Security
Your data is in the app’s private storage, which other apps can’t access. Most current Android phones encrypt their storage; to protect what you record, use a screen lock. This website is always served over HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If the change affects what the app does with your data, for example if it’s ever synced with a server or ads are added, I’ll let you know in the app before it happens.
